There aren't too many iPod classic leather cases with belt clips to choose from, but this one seems to do well enough. It has a plastic cover that protects the screen all the way to the control dial; the problem with that is the plastic prevents you from actually controlling the track wheel. I just cut the bottom portion of the plastic so that the control wheel is exposed; easy fix. I'll be keeping my eyes open for another case, though.

I went with this case because I was breaking clips off the detachable types.This has a trraditional belt clip that will "hang" on a belt or pocket.It is a snug fit with my thin plastic cover installed on the Treo 700p. I wrapped the treo in shrink wrap an forced it in to stretch out the case a bit for easier removal, worked fine.Stays on while running, but has come off in the car when sitting down.Cover flap clasp is magnetic with a center hole/pin, not an easy closure every time, but is fine once I stretched it out. Keep in mind, I have the thin (1.25MM)plastic case on the Palm as well, without that case the fit is fine. Best I've tried, Its a keeper!!

After buying several cases for my iPhone, I found this one more option at Amazon. At the beginning I thought that the design was good, but when I received the case, simply the stuff did not meet the basic expectations. Do not get me wrong. The skin is high quality, some features like the locking button at the bottom is an improvement over the best case I've tried (The one called the dockable from Sena). The implementation of the design is so poor that the holes in the case do not correspond to the ones on the phone. The end result, you can not use the headphones, you can not plug it to be charged, the phone shoots off because the pressure is so strong on the power on button that it just can not resist. One nice way to trow your money into the sewer. Helio.

This phone is afflicted with the same fatal flaw that I've seen reported with other Panasonic cordless phone - limited talk time.Don't know why or how, but it allows you to talk for maybe 45 minutes on a full charge.Have done all the right things when it comes to maximizing batter life (discharging it completely before recharging) but to no avail.
A shame too, because it had all the features I wanted -- handset speakerphone, mute, caller ID log, etc.

I like this phone.We've had it 3 weeks and it is an immense improvement over another brand I bought in November.Calls are clear, phone is easy to use and program, the ring is not a jarring jangle, the prompting recordings are clear and I like the default answering message enough to leave it alone.I like the way the phone hangs on the wall and how the handset securely clicks into place.The handset is a nice length and weight.I can't speak to the battery problem because we are not lengthy talkers and the handset remains in the cradle when not in use.

This is a really nice well made case. The bad is there are no openings for charging or the headset so you have to remove the device almost completely to charge or listen to music thereby risking damage to the unit. I am going to try to locate a leather punch which should solve the problem. I just can't believe that Prima would design such a nice case but then leave out such an important aspect in design. I may call them and maybe they can fix this flaw in their next shipments. It is a nice well made case and if you are willing to either live with the problem or fix it yourself you will have a nice case. One other strange thing they did is offer the red case with a clip but no clip for the black which I have. I never use a clip myself but I am mentioning this as it could be a problem for some of you.

This product is pretty cheap but seems to be working ok.The fit wasn't totally right for my iphone but I managed to squeeze it on.And I dropped it once and the case fell apart but didn't break so I was able to put it back on but it seemed to defeat the purpose of protecting the phone in case you accidentally drop it. All in all, you really do get what you pay for.Not sure if I would ever buy this product again.

I lost my battery charger that went to my panasonic lumix camera.A Panasonic replacement battery charger was going to run me around $65.I was skeptical of ordering a generic replacement charger but I have to say it worked just fine.I haven't used the car charger, I only used the wall outlet charger.The charger looked just like the one that came with my camera. I never waited for the red charge light to go off.I just charged the battery for an hour or so and then unplugged the unit from the wall.I was a little concerned about overcharging the battery but so far so good, I had just as much battery power length as normal. It is a very nice case - good quality leather with easy open/close features. The only problem is that the case surrounding the iPhone is too soft and after a few weeks flexes so that it is inconvenient to use the keys at the edge of the screen. Also it lacks a camera lens cut out. If they could have made the case with a firmer frame around the phone (and lens cutout) it would be very hard to beat.

This battery has less capacity than any similar one. I used it for a couple weeks, just to find out that it would require so frequent charging that it was very similar to the old one I was replacing. The batteries are probably a 1 to 1.2 Ah NiCd, very old. I finally replaced it with a home made pack from 2400 mAh NiMh batteries, which lasts 2 or 3 days without recharging.

These are great earbud headphones. I bought these along with the Aiwa HP-V600 ($20) so I can qualify for free shipping. These earbuds have a much larger sound stage than the Aiwa. This is especially apparent when listening to classical symphonies. While Aiwa had much more Bass and was more efficient to drive (more sound/volume setting), the soundstage was small and muddled. It sounded like the entire orchestra was crammed in your bathroom. This was worsen because the Aiwa also picked up tiny details (the Panasonic also did too but to a lesser extent). This additional detail combined with a small sound stage gave an impression of excessive noise.
One thing about the Aiwa was that it fit better in your ears. It also shielded out background noise better.
One complaint about these headphones is that they are BLACK, not the GOLD color as pictured. The black color looks so Ordinary.
The bottom line is: If you want loudness and lots of Bass and you don't listen to classical or acoustic stuff, get the Aiwa. For classical music, especially if your player has a bass boost, get the Panasonic.

Review of iPod Touch Clear Silicone Skin from Prima Cases

Prima is a good company and this is a good case, though it's not quite perfect.While the fit is quite exact, I find it's not quite as snug as I would like, which makes it pretty easy for dust and debris to get into the case.For example, the edges can flip up as I'm stowing my touch in my pocket, letting crud get trapped between the case and the iPod, whichcan't be good for the finish.

I also found that while the silicone texture provides excellent grip, that same grip creates a lot of friction when trying to slip my iPod into a pocket or tight space.So your precious iPod will be less likely to slip from your fingers, but it's also harder to access, which I think is not a good trade-off because the iPod touch can't really be operated without holding and seeing it (i.e., you can't easily change the volume or skip a track while it's in your pocket), so I'm always putting it away and retrieving it.

In the end I opted for a clear hard case from another maker.

Here is my review on these inexpensive headphones after one 3 hour flight:

ADVANTAGES:
- Quality build and good materials
- Very comfortable over the ear design with large earcups.I'm sure you can use them for 10+ hours without pain, since there is no pressure on the ears.
- Lightweight
- Folds to a compact size and stores in an included leatherette bag
- Sound quality seems good although I'm not an audiophile to make a good judgement on this
- Only little hissing when noise cancellation is on (the Bose don't have any hissing by the way)
- Headphones even work without noise cancellation in passive mode (some other brands don't)

DISADVANTAGES:
- Noise cancellation is not very good. It does drown out very low frequencies on the airplane but you can still hear the jet engines and everything else.I tried the Bose QC2 and QC3 on a trip and their noise cancellation works much better. When you activate the Bose noise cancellation you get this numbing sensation and everything is calm and quiet. With these there is only a slight change in the noise, but enough of a change to make the engine noise less annoying.
- Since the noise cancellation isn't very good and they hiss, they're not something to use in the office to drown out background noise (again, the Bose are very good for that).

So overall I'm pleased, mainly because of the comfort and low price (you can get 10 of these for one Bose!). I tried several other brands and returned them because they were either uncomfortable, had ineffective noise cancellation or were too expensive.

I bought and installed this battery backup device about a year ago on my KX-TG5633 system since power failures are part of life where I live. Works perfectly and seamlessly to keep the telephone base station powered up when the lights go out. The remotes, of course, continue to work as before using their internal batteries. Just bought another this week for my elderly mother's phone to avoid a repeat of the panic which ensued the last time her lights went out.

Read the label on your phone, and if it uses either 6V or 9V DC (200ma - 850ma) power AND the power adapter has a 5 mm barrel connector with center negative, outer positive polarity then this device should work with your phone. Use AA Alkaline batteries,install 4 for 6V, 6 for 9V. You want the long shelf life of the alkaline cells so the battery pack will work when you need it, so don't use NiMH of NiCd rechargeables. If a power outage exceeds a couple of hours, I replace the 6 AA cells.

Review of Panasonic KX-TCA98 Headset with Dual Wear Options

I was looking for a convienent way to speak with colleagues and clients from my home office without being tied down to my desk. I have a Panasonic cordless phone and decided to stick with the same brand.
This KX-TCA98 seemed to fit the bill.Unfortunately, the over-the-ear option does not allow for use of the enclosedpadded "ear muff" - instead, a plastic ring fits behind your ear and a hard plastic speaker enclosure sits directly against your ear ... it's the only way it works, trust me.This arrangement is OK but isn't very comfortable.Also, when used like this, the sound volume is much lower than listening through the telephone itself (yes, even with the volume on headset and phone both up).
The headband wear option utilizes the "ear muff" and offers acceptable sound quality, loudness, and comfort against the ear. Unfortunately again, a compromise in the headband option reveals itself in the mirror ... one side lays flat and snug against your head while the speaker and microphone side push the headband out and away from your head so far that it looks absolutely ridiculous! (Hopefully you work alone)
The in-line volume and mute features work well.
In hindsight, I should have bought a headset-only model which probably fits better, has a better ear muff, sounds better and looks less hodgepodge.Just to top it off - the packaging is sooo difficult to open (even when carefully cut) that it is destroyed in the process - negating any possibility for exchange!
The morale: Don't try to be everything to everyone, just be really good at something.

I ordered 2 Panasonic P-P592 NiCd (nickel-cadmium) batteries for an old cordless phone.That's what the picture on Amazon's web site showed. However, what I received were 2 Panasonic HHR-P592 NiMH (nickel-metal hydride) batteries.Note that Amazon themselves did not ship the batteries, but rather, they came directly from a third-party company.

The NiMH batteries are APPARENTLY suitable replacements for the NiCd batteries, but some battery chargers which work with one type may not work with the other.

I called Panasonic to see if the HHR-P592 batteries were suitable for my particular model of cordless phone, but they couldn't even find the HHR-P592 batteries in any of their own documentation.

After searching on the web, I came to the conclusion that the biggest thing I needed to be concerned with was possibly overcharging the NiMH batteries, if my charger happened to be designed to work only with the NiCd batteries.

I have typically kept one battery in the spare charging compartment in the phone's base unit, so when the one in the phone needs to be recharged, I simply swap it with the one which had been in the charger.There is no danger of overcharging the NiCd batteries, but based on the information from the web, I'm not sure if leaving the NiMH batteries in the charger indefinitely is safe.So now, I am only leaving the battery in the charger for about 24 hours.

So far, they seem to be working fine in the phone, and are not getting excessively hot when they're in the charger, so I believe they're ok.But, when these finally die, I will definitely find some other web site, preferably with a phone number that I can call, so that I can specifically state that I want the P-P592 NiCd batteries, with no substitutions.

Note that prior to buying these batteries from Amazon, I went to Radio Shack and got some type 92 NiCd batteries which they said were appropriate.They fit in the phone fine, and worked ok for a couple charges, but were actually loose when they were in the charger (they seemed to be tapered a bit differently than the Panasonic batteries).But after a few charges, they only ended up working for an hour or so before needing to be recharged.

In any case, if you have been using NiCd batteries and are not absolutely sure that any chargers you'll be using can also handle NiMH batteries, I would not order NiCd batteries from Amazon, since you may end up with NiMH batteries instead.

I didn't expect much out of these, but for the price I was impressed. Good range, clear treble that's not tinny, and a lot of volume. There's less bass and midrange than other sets, but not a big deal- I prefer the midrange cut anyway (good for rock) and with the bass turned up higher on a portable player the sound is actually quite good. They are very comfortable in the ear, and the cord, at 44 inches, is just right, not too long or short.
I'd recommend these to anyone looking for an inexpensive spare set of earbuds. I've also had more expensive Panasonic buds, and while there was more bass, the drivers made a horrible popping sound at high volumes. I didn't have this problem at all with the RP-HV152s. If you need a spare set, pick these up- they're definitely a good buy.

In the past I've purchased replacement batteries for my Uniden phone from Radio Shack.This year I noticed my phone wasn't holding a charge more than an hour so I knew it was time for a new battery, before the phone couldn't hold a charge at all.I walked over to Radio Shack (with my phone handset and its battery) to purchase a replacement. Because the battery in my phone didn't list any technical specs, I wasn't sure which battery I needed because the new battery packages didn't have enough information for me to be sure I had the right battery and the store clerk didn't know either.Also, I noticed the price for batteries had nearly doubled.Between the price and the store clerk, I decided to go back home and check on Amazon for a replacement.

I was surprised that I could get the same battery on Amazon for well under the price at Radio Shack.The technical specs were detailed enough that I felt confident I'd ordered the right battery. Even paying for shipping, the total price was several dollars less than Radio Shack. The item shipped quickly and, although I don't have any electronic testing equipment to verify this, it seems to work as well as any previous battery.

In comparison to my experience at Radio Shack (which I won't include here because it was not the usual, satisfied experience I've always had in the past), the Amazon purchase was a breeze. I expect I'll buy another back up battery in the next few months so I have it on hand next year (these batteries only last a year or two) but I'll definitely check out Amazon first before I buy any electronics in the future..

OK, first I want to say the battery works well, so far.Having said that and the reason I'm rating this only one star, I thought I was buying a Panasonic battery not a knock-off. When you pull up this product on a list, it says: "Replacement Cordless Phone battery for HHR-P513 by PANASONIC"The product site is also misleading. It says: "Replacement Cordless Phone battery for HHR-P513" on one line and "Other products by PANASONIC" on the next. The picture of the battery says "Replace with", has a big 27 on it and has the RECYCLE logo which looks like the original battery in my phone. The battery I received says "Replaces Panasonic HHR-P513" and has no big 27 on it, and no RECYCLE logo, bait and switch?...it's not nice to fool your customers. I often buy off-brands to save a few dollars but like to know that's what I'm getting.Amazon needs to monitor the authenticity of sites like this and add modifications that require each vendor to CLEARLY state if products are off-brand or originals.Hope you find this helpful.

This battery lasted less than a year in our phone. We gave it normal use, that is we do not leave if off the charger for long periods of time. One to two hours at most.
We bought other batteries of this type and they lasted quite long and performed well. Perhaps we got a "bad apple."
We bought a replacement from Radio Shack. So far so good. One caveat, it cost a lot more than the on line pruchase. We'll see how long the "Shack" one lasts and if it warrents the extra money.

This battery also works in VTech i5808 phones and the i5871 base station.Most of the complaints those two units get ("base not found" & "sudden static/call-drop") boil down to dying batteries.I don't know whether they are actually crummy batteries, or if there's a bad charging circuit design, or they simply don't show as discharged in the on-screen indicator.Whatever, I decided not to buy the VTech replacement (perennially "unavailable" from their website anyway!) and chose this Energizer equivalent.They're both 3.6V, 800mAh, NiMH.(As of this writing, these happen to be 20% more expensive.)They worked fine in my phones.I have no opinion as to whether they last longer or whether they die more gracefully, but I doubt it.Heck, they're probably all made in the same factory...

So my point is to consider the age/condition of your phones; you might just be better buying a new set.

I bought this headset thinking to replace my aging (yet still functional) Plantronics that I've used every day of the week for 5+ years.

Well, I'm still with my old Plantronics, and after using this, I'll probably replace it with a similar model from them!

The good:
1) The ear pad is comfortable and largish, which works for me.I like a headset that feels comfortable against my ear for long periods of time (as in many hours).
2) The price here is a third of what I paid... can't believe I didn't research this, but I fell for the old "if it's expensive, it has to be good" marketing ploy at an Office ***-***** style store.

The bad:
1) The bumped out hard rubber piece that sits on your non-listening ear was both uncomfortable and shaped the opposite of how it will fit your head
2) The "mute" button only works while you hold it in.How does that help me on a 2 hour conference call?My Plantronics has a switch.
3) No Voice volume boost?Come on!
4) The "noise cancelling" is also "voice cancelling" to some degree.I had to increase my volume just to be heard.This was the main reason I ditched it after two days of testing with a newer phone system.It turns out that my Panasonic 2-line 5GHz cordless units also lower the output of my voice, but this thing does too.Going back to my old headset made it more reasonable for others to hear me.I don't have to shout as often (the problem with my new phone system made me question if I was being objectionable about the headset at first)
5) The fold out style of the headband is pretty inflexible and seems sort of pointless.I found that it dug into my head a little.

I've always been one to try new technology, and this looked on par with my original headset.I was (and still am) firmly in the Plantronics camp, but I thought I'd give it a try.Sorry to say that I did.After this, I may never try another brand.(No, Plantronics didn't solicit this review, but they sure could send me some money if they feel like it!) ;-)

Don't buy it.You'll probably return it just like I did.

I have had this system for 2 days and I am so pleased with it.

I bought this system to block collection calls aimed at the
previous owner of our recycled verizon phone number.We have
been baraged with these collection calls with no way other than
changing our phone number to stop them.(I found out that the national
do not call registry doesn't apply to bill collectors!) My wife
didn't want to change our phone number due to the hassle of notifying
everyone and no assurance that the new phone number wouldn't also
have the same problem.I have been looking for a way to block
specific phone numbers on our land line verizon phone, and this
is the ONLY way I have found to do that.

This system allows entry of up to 30 phone numbers to block. The
numbers can be keyed in after entering a code on any of the
4 handsets.The number is then blocked on all the handsets and the
answering machine.Or if I get a call from a number I wish to block
I can navigate to the option to block that number with a few key
strokes.(Naturally you need to have caller id service on your phone
for this feature to recognize the incoming phone numer).

To test the call blocking I blocked my cell phone, and when I called
my main number. I got a single ring, a fast busy for a few seconds and
then a disconnect.On the Panasonic phone I just heard a single ring
and then blessed silence.A few times a day we hear the one ring and
know a call is being blocked.We no longer check the caller id list
to know who called and got blocked - it doesn't matter.No answering
the phone or removing crummy collection messages from the answering
machine. It works !!!

In addition to call blocking, other features I really like is the large print
bright black on white lcd display on the handsets, the ability to mute the ring
on selected handsets (like the one in the bedroom).The ability to mute
the ring on the answering machine (also in the bedroom). The ability to use
any of the 4 handsets to check messages, and to record the answering machine
greeting.The ability to answer a call on more than one handset at the same
time (no more hokey transfering of calls from one handset to another).

This system is heads and shoulders above our last system.The Panasonic
Dect 6 technology is a new generation of features.I know I sound like
a commercial, but I am that pleased.If you check my other reviews and you will
see I tell it like I see it, good or bad.

I forgot to mention another good feature, the answering machine turns off
if I pick up the phone while someone is rcording a message... no more trying
to get the answering machine turned off to avoid feedback, while trying to
take the call.

Regarding the text to speech feature which announces the caller's name
from their caller ID, we don't use it.It is primitive and difficult to
understand but if you needed it you could get used to the voice chip
translation of your caller's name.The reason I don't use it is because
I wanted less disturbance from calls and I found the mangled caller
ID announcement a bit jarring.

In regard to call blocking, it has drastically reduced the annoyance of
the harassing calls we were receiving. The blocked numbers have mostly
stopped calling, and when one company called with a different number,
it only took a few seconds to add that number to the blocked list.

Like others, I found that this headset worked for only a short time.Then I found that while I could hear the person I was calling, they couldn't hear me.

So I opened up the earpiece and found the problem:a wire had broken off the small chip that serves as the connection point between the mouthpiece and the earpiece.I soldered it back on, and the headset worked again.

In a week or two the same thing happened.I had to re-solder it.

The third time, I tried soldering it again, but more wires had broken off and I just gave up.

The problem seems to come from moving the mouthpiece.It CAN be twisted all around, but apparently that pulls on the wires inside and that's what breaks them off.

From what other people have described, I think this was what caused the problem they had.

I was happy enough with the headset itself -- when it worked, which wasn't for long.

I was afraid to push it thinking it would break the phone and then I'm out a phone. Also I hate to pay $5 for shipping for such an inexpenve item from a local site. So now I'm out that money also. Having considered dumping my four Panasonic phones just because the batteries continued to recharge poorly and not last long when recharged, I am very happy to find that my 'last chance' change to the Energizer appears to be a great improvement!And they have saved me the cost of buying a new phone system so they are a bargain as well!

At this point I have two of my four Panasonic phones using the new Energizer batteries.The results are clearly better.First, the extra amperage (Energizers pack 1200mA vs. the Panasonic 850mA batteries) definitely translates into longer talk time between charges. No comparison, at least in our experience.And the better battery technology (Energizer NiMH vs. Panasonic's memory-effect-prone NiCad) does charge up fully every time.

As a completely unexpected and added bonus that I cannot explain, the range of the phones is better!Maybe it is the extra amperage - I do not know - but the very same phone in the very same room where I ALWAYS had static and poor reception is now perfectly clear using the Energizer battery!Now that is a very nice plus, especially since this is in my home office!

So I highly recommend trying these before you give up and toss your phones out like I was about to do!If your experience is like mine, you just may like your Panasonic phone again!

I purchased this batter to replace 2 batteries in 2 phones that I used for quite awhile.We got years of use out of the original batteries.The new batteries do not last near as long.I would say they last about 20 minutes.When I know I will be on the phone for awhile ( i.e. calling the computer company to get help and they put you on hold forever)I always have one of my other phones for back-up.I think there is a more expensive battery you can buy that probably last longer.Probably better to spend the extra money for the more expensive battery.I really don't recommend this battery.

The vendor, eBatteries, is awful.Although I ordered Panasonic replacement batteries, the vendor shipped some off brand batteries, charged an exhorbitant amount for shipping (150 percent of the cost of the batteries), blamed Amazon for setting the shipping cost while Amazon blamed the vendor.Neither eBatteries nor Amazon provided any satisfaction through their respective customer service operations, and, as a result, I will no longer use Amazon or any of its affiliates.This was just the worst buying experience I have ever had to endure.

These batteries are fantastic !
What I'm pissed about is the $150 i've spent on replacement bateries over 2 years in the 6 handsets I have. Why has panasonic waited so long to come out with a replacement battery that will hold a charge ?
The only thing worse than dealing with my past battery problems would have been if I had given or thrown away my phone systems just before these NiMH batteries came out.

Thankfully, I had saved my two very old batteries (for main phone plus extension); I thought they were pretty drained because they didn't last long, but when I put in these new ones, they lasted about half as long!!!!Please, please, when you read positive reviews of batteries here, keep in mind that some are posted by the company owner and/or friends and family.But take it from me, a totally objective person, that I feel I just threw out a bunch of money.Unfortunately, I've disposed of the packaging and don't have the time to pack up these batteries and get them over to the post office to attempt to get a refund. Phones are so inexpensive now, anyway, you'd be much better off taking the money you would have spent on these batteries and putting them toward a new telephone.To give the manufacturer the benefit of the doubt, my guess is that they're not intentionally being underhanded -- the batteries, like the phones they fit, are probably fairly old and simply have lost their juice sitting on a shelf.

Review of Panasonic Type-24 PP511A Cordless Telephone Rechargeable Battery Replacement

I have four Panasonic phones with this dreadful battery.Everyone has been replaced at least once and two of these have failed again.But no more!

There is good news and it doesn't require you to build your own battery.I bought the Energizer replacement P511 battery which is has much better amperage (1200mA vs. the Panasonic's 850mA) and uses better battery technology (NiMH vs. NiCad, and NiCad is notorious for memory effect problems).

I will post a review of the Energizer on its page, but a quick result is that I now have two phones using the Energizer and both work longer on a charge.And a surprising difference is that the phone seems to work better at longer distances from the base!Not sure why (perhaps the extra amperage??) but where I always have had some static using the same phone in the same room, I now have clear reception!

I had been considering ditching these phones altogether, but maybe the new Energizer batteries will forestall that expense!
